Why do We Collect Personal Information?

Instantcart collects and uses your personal information to allow us to process your subscription for an online store, or when you place an order for a domain name, as well as providing us with the ability to offer you superior customer service. We may require this information to contact you regarding an order, or to send you our newsletter if you have opted in to receive one.

How we collect personal information

We collect your personal information when you register on our site. This is done either as an independant task on the website, or during the order process. We only collect your information through a SSL 256bit secure server, this is shown by the padlock symbol near the address bar. You can also validate our SSL connection by clicking on the padlock, where you can view the Digitally signed certificate.

Do We Disclose Personal Information?

No, we don't disclose your personal information to any third party unless it is required to provide you with the products and services we offer.  For example you may interact with third parties such as Paypal when making a payment.  When information is passed to a third party, we make sure that your data is processed in accordance with instructions set out by us.  You also have the option to manage your data with these third parties in the same way you would with us.

Access to Your Personal Information & Your Rights

You always have access to the information we have about you. To review and update your personal information, simply log into your account.  You can also contact us directly to request additonal information about:-

  • The purposes of the processing
  • The categories of personal data concerned
  • The recipients to whom the personal data has/will be disclosed
  • How long we intend to store your personal data for
  • If we did not collect the data directly from you, information about the source

Data Retention

Some of your personal data my be retained to meet certain regulatory requirements.  For example we are required by UK tax law to keep your basic personal details such as your name, address, email address and phone number for a minimum of 6 years, after which this data will be destoyed.  Some data may be kept for longer but only under your strict instructions.

Data relating to direct marketing will be kept until you instruct us not to do so.  When you withdraw your right to use your data for direct marketing, your email address and name will be removed from our mailing list.
